Dinner at Panchos

Last night we had a great night at Pacho's house. We had great apps and fun times talking! There were laughs, wine, the STRONGEST PISCO SOUR EVER, frangelico, more pisco, and great food and friends!
I was able to meet most of Ale's family's closest friends and Miriam was great! I met the member of Ale's family that everyone has... I had a lot of laughs with Pancho and of course I passed out far too early on the chair!
Apps didn't start until after 930pm and dinner later.. we finished dinner a little before midnight and I was soon passed out!
Many thanks again to Ale, her mama, and Pancho!!! It was a great evening and I want to do this EVERY WEEK!  Being in latin America and seeing all these people so close with their families really makes me wish I had a family I was close with and that understood moi!  There are so many fun times to be had! I can't wait to spend time with my other friends families, take Viejo out, and maybe meet some of Omar's family if there is time before I must return to the US.

I have had a few compliments about my nose while in Peru! It is the strangest thing ever! In Arequipa Daniel's friends said I had a perfect nose.. very straight and narrow.. and again last night a comment about a pretty straight nose. I guess because it's not seen here people appreciate it more. In the states the look is certainly more for a wider nose and not so small features... but if it leads to me being likened to Barbara Striesand I will TAKE IT!

My spanish has been improving. Yesterday we did go to the mall on the bus and I believe I will be able to navigate on my own around town..... should be interesting to see where all I shall end up. The bus system here is unlike anything I've ever seen.. meaning I do not think there is much organization or any sort of timetable! Ah latin culture!!! :)
I'm also interested to learn about the method of construction here. I saw a lot of it in Arequipa. I will post photos later. It seems that rather than steel beamed buildings they build rebar upwards and fill it with concrete for support.. I'm not sure the method or reasoning behind this but it's on my list of things to search out along with the little duo of chickens on so many rooftops in the country!

I want to spend all summer (it's almost winter here) in Peru exploring!!
LOVE !!!
