MAN! It's been a wild few weeks. OF COURSE.. DRAMA! Typically it seems that if I'm stateside life tends to go a little crazy. I'm hoping to have most of that go away once I'm safely in CO and don't need things like my CAR or a place to stay while said car is getting fixed :)
 
Yeah.. So I'm still stuck in Indianapolis Indiana… car is broken but being repaired. Needed a new engine. Was staying at my childhood friends house but after my car died I have since relocated to a gracious friends house. I met Omar in Peru.. You may have seen photos of him and his Viejo!
So now I'm staying at Omar's in Indianapolis. He's a gent letting me stay and his roommates are awesome too. I've been helping them organize their house as they just moved in the start of the month.
 
My car is going to be at least another week so I'm going to Chicago via a bus tomorrow to crash at another friends for a few days. He will be working a lot but he's happy to see me, happy to have his dog walked which he knows I love, and he knows I can get myself on a train ot the city and wander around happily as I did in Jan when I was last in Chicago. Hoping that shane and I can wander a bit ourselves as he's always great to talk to and he loves to travel and photography. SWEET!
 
Any recommendations of things to do in Chicago? I've only been for a few days this past Jan. Low cost better, and I love to wander
 
Am currently interested in someone. No details but it's fun. I will be too busy in CO but a little flirtation never hurts and hey! I can always use another friend to take road trips to escape from Vail!
 

Have put my first $100 toward the "See Andrea in England for a wedding or not fund!" My friend Andrea from Camp should be getting married in 2012 (don't ask) and I'm going and it's going to be a party! My objective is $50 every month. Not much but since I'll be doing that for a year and a half it won't be a bad spending budget for one of my girls hen to do!
 
Am so ready to be settled in CO. You may say… Gee Jacki.. You've waited a year what are the first things you'll do? Here you go: Jacki's 1st week in CO to do list:
See Greg Corder in Denver. Eat and drink tequila at Lola's. Eat at Earl's. Go dancing. Maybe see a sporting event.
HOT TUB.
Spend time with my friend Adam, my old roommate Nate (and his gorgy pup), my friend Ashley (smashley if the bama boys are reading this), Missy from Vail and many others)
My first three hikes are planned. They will go as follows.. Wheeler lakes trail from Copper. Booth Falls in Vail. Then if the weather is okay I'd like to bag a 14er!
HOT SPRINGS!
With the car issues my trip to Austrailia will be cancelled. So now I probably will take a 3 or 4 day winter vacation somewhere. I am thinking Portland to see my friend Jay. This coming off season I'm hoping to be laid off seasonally (unemployment..ching) and go to see my friend Ant in Vermont (met in Vail), swing over to Maine for some backpacking, and spend time with my friend Sam in Mass… and maybe have both of those boys join me for some fun in Maine.
 
During the winter I'll take an amtrak to Utah. My friends from Lee will be moving there in October to plant a church! Congratulations and good luck to Jason and Melinda Benson! Please myspace her.. You can buy her cd to contribute to their move.
 
 
That's the next few months in a nutshell. Things have been rough this past month SO.. I'm stoked for the future. Ready to work, sign a lease, and breathe that rocky mountain fresh air!!!!

Things I've done in Indy and enjoyed and think you should do:
Walk to broadripple everyday with the dog. Eat ice cream
Run on the monon daily with the dog.
Walk the canal trail almost every day
Listen to great old school hiphop with friends
Eat at Journey's… sushi buffet with chocolate covered strawberry/fondue station
Salsa dance at the Jazz Kitchen then watch Omar puke in the driveway.
Tube down the sugar creek.. Actually don't. It's in a state park so you have to be sneaky about drinking.
Go to a Toby Kieth andTrace Adkins concert. Actually don't. Toby was drunk or hungover and just stood there. DO see Trace adkins.. That's a sexy man!
Do miss a bus every now and then. It can be fun.
Do not loose your prescription sunglasses. :(
