I'd not intended to post again until arriving in Peru, but I am on a greyhound between point A and B and this is a travel blog.
Travel by greyhound is always interesting, especially in the south. I don't mind it at all (and neither does my special friend whom I use the greyhound to visit purely for his convenience) but man.. The looks I get from people at the station and on the bus... Crazy really.
Currently I'm the sole white lady (swf, if you will) and in a dress. GH has the stereo type in the south as only transportation poor black people with 'issues'. This can be the case, and apparently I don't fit it in my cute clothes with my backpack and daisy chained Patagonia's. Go figure.
While I rarely talk, I'm always listening as a study on human nature. Usually, people on these buses are visiting family.. I think that is great. To me, using greyhound to see family is so responsible. These people may not be able to afford the convenience of a car (or car for the additional expense of a rental as is my case) but they still take the time, deal with the crop GH customer service, grumpy drivers, and the oddballs to visit their families.
I've met people before traveling 18 hours to spend nine hours with his kid of whom he doesn't have custody. Who knows what he did to cause this.. But making an effort is great.

Otherwise, the reason for the GH and all of this was spending the weekend in Anniston with Luke.
I spent a random semester of college in a public university in alabama.. Met Luke (aka Chip) and have been friends since! It's always a relaxing weekend, and frankly means a lot as he has tastes along my lines & doesn't find my snooty preferences to be obnoxious.
We had some beer, listened to tunes, and I got to experience a new place. While I have spent oodles of time in Atlanta I am always to the north. Yesterday we went to Little Five Points. He got some records at Criminal Records (jazz recordings--yup <3) we had a beer or two and walked around. The weather and company were perfect. I was too lazy to cary my phone around so no photos.
Today, it rained which I love. I sadly had to leave.
I have a great time when I visit the south now.. But I always leave sad because I know it will be a long time before my travels will bring me back to Luke. Becky, Adam, and nika.
Very sad today at least.

It is a road to travel and an experience to have (hello open containers!) and a lovely life to lead.
I've included a few pictures... One from the bus of the lake between Anniston and Birmintanf the rest silly photos of Luke.

Good friends don't give hugs--They give the bird (it's the word)

Cool kids wear my purple sunglasses.
