Lima, 8.5 ( or is it 9 or 10?)million April 16

First off.. sorry if you are viewing on a computer & the photos & sizes are wacky. Can anyone suggest an editor for blogger?  using their website makes it impossible to format photos and make them look pretty. very irritating.

Lima is a beautiful city.
I've only been to the miraflores,  barranco,  chorillos (airport), and San Isidro districts.  Ale lives in San Isidro, it is the banking district so rather nice.  Tree lined streets,  many plant accents, and easy access to the remainder of the city.
We shopped and ran errands yesterday then took the bus (green 73 s/1.20 $. 50) to Barranco.  I saw the Pacific for the first time on the trip &  was excited! Barranco borders the sea and is known for sights such as the Puente de los Suspiros - bridge of sighs.
Ale didn't think it was safe, and we do rather stand out but it was perfectly fine.
We walked for a while in the very well lit portions, walked along the borrada de los baƱos (small pedestrian ally with cute restaurants and hostels), to the Pacific Ocean over look.
Later I was able to enjoy wifi at a cafe and half off drinks on a pretty balcony overlooking the bridge and nunnery. Just under $13 (s/32) got me two maracuya sours and some toasted Tomales. Very good after our heavy lunch.
Another way less crowded bus ride back to San Isidro and I was pretty much done for the night

No one seems to know the population of Lima- I've heard 8.5, 9, and 10 million.  Just a little discrepancy.

The overlook and beaches are apparently susceptible to tsunamis. You don't see these signs else where in Lima.  We decied that the little man jumping from the wave to the cliff MUST be a surfer!!!

Tree lined streets--so pretty
Cacti & palm trees?! OH MY!
Lucasito's cone of shame.

From the front of the apartment: View of Ovalo Gutierrez & the Miraflores side of Lima. (she lives at the border of San Isidro & Miraflores
