My day started out fun as I like it. I woke up at 6am, convinced myself to go back to sleep then was woken at 920 by Rosalba with pureed juice
in hand! Time to rush to get ready as my bike tour is on the far side of Miraflores which can take up to 30 minutes by taxi! ya!

Rush rush rush around and off I went! I got a taxi at a reasonable rate (consider they try to charge more for people coming from San Isidro going to
Miraflores the two premiere districts AND charge more for gringas. My first driver tried to charge me s/10! crazy. I walked away
but he quickly negotiated & I was able to get 7 soles.

The bike tour was fantastic. The morning fog burned off faster than normal.. the sun was plentiful.. a light breeze...the company good..
and the tour guide was great! I think we went about seven miles.. starting in Miraflores & staying there for just a little bit.

We concentrated mostly on Barranco.. starting at the coast then into the district then into Chorillos--back to their coast.. and up the hills.
The pictures speak for themselves! It was fantastic especially since I made a few new friends from Bolivia.. gave out plenty of great tourist information
to some of the others. so yay!
Then I came back to the apartment for another fantastic lunch! SCORE!

I certainly recommend Bike Tours of Lima-- and renting a bike for a few hours after to go for a ride on the remainder of the miraflores coast. Please don't worry
about the crazy lima traffic.. you only have a few blocks of back streets which they navigate you through very easily.
Stunning.
Expect to pay s/75 (appx $29.50) for a three and a half hours tour. Such a bargain with bottled water and a snack of a typical sandwhich at a restaurant included.
s/40 for 4 hours bike rental.

I shopped a little afterwards and got several 'indian (as in India) style shirts for s/15 each so at s/45 that is about $18 for three shirts that I love. Had to get something long sleeved to cover my sunburn.
My cab back was easy to get down to s/6.
Later in the day I took a cab back to Miraflores for some shopping (wanted more Indian shirts) and paid only s/5 for each ride. yay!

Looking from Barranco district to Miraflores.
Barranco means cliff & is Bohemian area--Miraflores is covered in pretty parks!
The view towards the Chorillo coast
The church in Barranco
The bridge of sighs
I will post a video of this man singing. It is incredible!!
Local color...
The fish market & ultra exclusive regatas. Funny that the shanty town fish market is adjacent to the yacht club. :)
My favorite lunch first course--ensalada!!
Nelly's homemade pesto with lightly fried chicken.
Peruvian pajama pants.
Men's scarfs... anyone want any of these let me know.
